Heart attacks, or Sudden Cardiac Arrest, is a very scary thing. I can happen to us at any time and sometimes without warning. It kills nearly 900 people a day and if an individual is not treated within 4 to 6 minutes can be fatal.
So quick response is vital.
In fact many years ago my Dad had a SCA whilst driving. He was very lucky to survive. It was later found to be an allergic reaction to aspirin that caused the problem!
InsideCardiacArrest.com, from St. Jude Medical, is a very cool and useful website providing information about the risks, warning signs, and treatment of Sudden Cardiac Arrest.
The information is fantastic and includes all areas such as this artcle about the heart and blood flow.
They also have site two very cool videos:
Sudden Cardiac Arrest
(http://www.insidecardiacarrest.com/video_suddencardiacarrest.aspx)
and The Human Heart
(http://www.insidecardiacarrest.com/video_humanheart.aspx).
The videos are presented by a doctor but given to us in a simple and easy to understand way.
