Face up to it... Christmas is nearly here!

I had a shock today when I realized that we are well into October. The shops are now all kitted out for Halloween and Christmas is slowly pushing in too!

I have to face up to the fact that it is practically here. By the time I have sorted out my cards and everything else it will have arrived.

So whatever you need to sort out including things like alcohol and the very important Christmas cookies, it's good to get going now and avoid a rush!

Of course you will always leave something to the last minute though.... Christmas would not be right without stress!

Trust Nikon's View

I have a great Canon camera. I love it. However sometimes I do wish I had opted for the Nikon equivalent. Nikon have a great rep and from using their equipment over the years I am coming to realize that they can do absolutely no wrong.

So if I needed a pair of binoculars I would not hesitate to look in detail at the Nikon binoculars range. I am sure that every model gives top quality to price ration and will suit whatever you need. Plus you can be sure of the extremely high reliability and quality of the Nikon lens to help you see far into the distance....... Please remember it's unethical to buy such items for city use!

Home Cinema Retro Feel

I would give my right arm for a fully functional home cinema.... sadly I am not in the position to get one just yet.

I would however make sure that I went the whole way. I would love the old retro feel just saw these great home theater sconces. You have to admit it would be one of the finishing touches to give you that special cinema lighting.

Just need to hire someone to serve overpriced popcorn and huge buckets of soda!

What would you have in your hoe cinema?

It never occurred to me before... where do you buy cattle supplies?

When I was recently in Vermont I realized that many people have a very different way of life from us city dwellers. Just look at farmers..... They work all day, live on very little cash and have to generally live a very different life.

It had never occurred to me to wonder where they buy certain supplies. But of course like everything you can buy many of them online. For example take a look at this cattle supplies website. It has everything you need and the prices are not as daunting as I, in my expert opinion :), would have imagined!

If you are a farmer... let me know how you get all your supplies!

Darkness is coming!

As the fall nights draw in I have started to notice that my current house has no garden lighting. I like my garden so outdoor lighting is something that I feel is important. Especially as it isn't that cold yet.... I did say yet! I reside in Montreal and there will come a point when the cold will prevent me from using my garden. However the lights could still be used to scare off racoons!

Anyway, I should look for some.

Have you used Have you used acne treatment?

Luckily for me I never had to use acne treatment. I did get pretty zitty in my teenage years but it cleared up eventually and I don't have any obvious scars.

I do still notice that if I don't tay healthy that spots start to come back and know that acne can develop at any time too. So Maybe I won't always stay lucky and I will have to find a good treatment.

People I knew had acne and I know that the medication really helped clear it up so I know that it does work.

I love funny t-shirts

I think it has something to do with being a young man.... but I love funny t-shirts!

I don't actually own too many right now but I am always on the look out and if something really makes me laugh out loud or makes an important point I have to stop and consider if it is a good addition to my wardrobe.

What kind of funny t-shirts do you like?

Start a new business... how about a Jewelery Business?

BEing an online businessman I am always looking for opportunities online. However there are also always tons of businesses that can be conducted offline but with the help of online technology.

Take Jewelery for instance. You can easily get great quality, great priced wholesale fashion jewelry and sell it on through a custom website at a great profit.

Maybe when I am settled I will look to start such a business.

What is Phentermine?

Phentermine is an FDA approved appetite suppression.... in short it's believed to be able to help you lose weight.

I have never used Phentermine but one thing I do know is that if I ever did decide to use it I would not be buying from a pharmacy.

If you go online you can always get drugs like this much much cheaper.... take a look just follow the link in this post.

I like shoes.... but I am not crazy about having lots of them.

I am not always that picky about my clothes but buying a new pair of shoes is something that can take me a really long time.

First I have to make the realisation that I need shoes. Then I go through the hassle of deciding what type! Then actually out to buy them. It could take days to finish and then I may not be 100% happy!!

Asgi shoes have a great range though and they should be checked out :) but maybe not so suitable for me personally!

I hate dieting!!

I am sure we can all relate..... but I recently put on a few extra pounds of weight!! This was actually 7lbs over a 3 week period of rest and relaxation and excess eating :)

Now the time comes to shed this delightful load and I hate having to do the diet thing. Looking at diet pill reviews tempts me to try something else but in reality I know that it just requires determination in the long run :)

Exercise with baby

I saw a hilarious but very good thing whilst at the gym yesterday.

I group of young mothers were running around the aerobics room pushing their baby's in front of them.

Young mothers need exercise as much as anyone and it seems like a great idea to use the stroller and get your baby out with you. This kind of habit could help a baby get the right idea about exercise at a young age.

So when I found out about Bob stroller I thought it was great. These products are nicely and ergonomically designed to allow you to jog and exercise with your baby and get the most out of your time.

They look fantastic and the prices are not too bad either!

I said nooo no no....

People joke about drug rehab, especially since people like Amy Winehouse have turned it into such a media event but I think drug treatment has a very important and serious role in getting people off drugs and integrating them back into society.

I can't imagine for one minute what it is like to be addicted and I hope I never have to. These places do a great service and offer people the comfort, advice and encouragement that they need in hard times.

In fact someone I know and respect has just re-trained to become a councilor at a rehab clinic and he feels much more fulfilled than he has for many years.

I miss Toys!!

It was my birthday yesterday and I don't really care too much about it but one thing I do miss is getting toys as presents.

I used to love getting action figures, board games and computer games on my birthday.... even if I did just give them 2 days of attention then let them sit in the cupboard!

I guess as an adult I still have my fair share of toys but they are seemingly more grown up now!

Get a job in Vagas Baby!!

I had a friend here in Montreal who didn't really like it all that much.

He was actually from New Orleans so after a while he decided he was going to head back to the US with his French Canadian girlfriend. Luckily for her she worked for the Circus Solei so she got transferred to Vegas. I have not heard from hims since but I guess he had to look for Las Vegas jobs.

I really should email him. He was a nice and clever guy so I am sure he had no problems.

Ever had a dollhouse?

dollhouses are really weird little things. I get fascinated by the miniature worlds hidden within!

I like the ones best when they are most realistic and to scale. I find that dolls can sometimes ruin it unless they are very realistic!

What do you think? I have never had one and probably never will unless I have a daughter one day...

Late on a friday!!

I was supposed to go out tonight but ended up stuck on the computer.... sad really as was looking forward to meeting a friend, but hey, it happens!

But anyway as I mentioned before I am off to Maine for the weekend so that should be a whole lot of fun!

I ave no idea what state I will be in when I get back!

Looking for a new Web Host?

If you are looking to create a new blog or even your first blog and are going to go the self hosted route.... which I would definitely advise.... I would say that you have enough options to get exactly what you need for a good price.

Only problem is finding that perfect web host. Gladly for us there are many sites now that compare all the features and present them easily for us to choose what we need.

Web Hosting Rating are one of these sites. They offer a nicely and easily laid out site to help you quickly and efficiently choose the hosting you need. Also if you need help at all they offer many articles to get you up to speed.

Well worth checking out.

Holidaying in Vermont

Gladly I am Holidaying in Vermont. I love it here! Great chilled atmosphere and if I could just get away from my obsession with blogging and working I would feel very free :).

I'm currently staying in Williston, just outside of Burlington and am lucky enough to be spending the weekend in Maine.

I would love to go down to Boston but it does not look like I will have the time!

Great things about Vermont: Ben and Jerry's; New World Tortilla; Half Hippie, Half Hillbilly folks; The Nada tie dye man on the bike in downtown Burlington; Tons of really good local beer!

Funniest Vacation...

What is your funniest vacation?

Mine was probably at the age of 18 when some friends and I decided to take off on an 700 mile trip to the South East coast of England.

We didn't really plan it... more of a get in the car and head down to a random place. IN this case we picked Brownston, for no apparent reason.

So we took off and started to have an amazing time. It was great but I can't really say why!! Much of our time was spent in the car with loud music playing and us playing around.

..... Then eventually after a couple of days we reached the town of Brownston. There was a big problem. Brownston was about 20 houses and nothing else so we decided this could not be our destination. All the hype about a place we didn't even know!

So we picked a further place on the map, Newquay, the surf paradise of the UK. Newquay was amazing. Beautiful weather, beautiful beaches, surfing and alcohol.... I was young it was perfect.

We talked about doing the same road trip style in the USA. Sadly we have not yet done so. However I have had the chance to road trip in the states, with the destination being the great city of Boston.

I really hope I get a chance to visit Boston again soon. I'd like to take some Boston tours and maybe head down to New York to go to the Top of the Rock observation center.

There is so much I want to do in the USA, and many more road trips ahead!

If you are looking for help with things to do on your USA vacation you have to check out Trusted Tours and Attractions. They offer discounted tickets to sightseeing tours in 23 cities across America, online travel guides and much more.

If you are looking for ideas on what to do you should sign up for the Trusted Travels eNewsletter . Also you should enter to win a $150 Magellan’s Gift Certificate (Offer ends August 31st, 2008).

Check me out on Blog Gears...

As you may know this is not my main site.

I run many more sites and this site is not my priority.

To aid promotion for some of these sites I recently submitted videos to BlogGears.com.

So it would be really cool if you could head over and vote me up.

Take a look for The Random Forest and Frugal Zeitgeist.

Cheers.

Lenovo coupons and much much more

It's definitely worth saving money on literally anything that you can. Chances are if you can find a cheaper price you were getting ripped off before.

Retailers offer coupons and still make money so we as consumers should always take advantage and aim to get things at their lowest margins.

Savings.com is one of the great places you can go to get this coupons. In times of weak economy more and more coupons are being offered to entice us.... Savings.com reflects this as it is jam packed.

Just think about it. If you can save an average of $40, using discount coupons, a month on a variety of items from groceries to computer equipment then you will save $500 a year.... that's enough to help top up the savings or treat your self to a long weekend vacation out of town.....

Say you needed a new laptop. If you search over at Savings.com for Lenovo coupon you can find amazing savings on the Thinkpad range. From 25% or a $100 rebate.

Find savings like this a couple of times a year and you could make that predicted $500 into $1000's saved every year.

I find that even for little things it's worth searching. It does not cost anything to look for a code!

Yummy Wholemeal Bread Recipe...

I just published one of my favorite recipes on another site of mine and thought I would let you guys know about it.

This recipe is for a great wholemeal bread. It now replaces my loaf buying and saves me a bunch of money.

Can you bake bread? IF so maybe you have some input for the recipe....

Here is the recipe for Wholemeal Raisin Bread. It's very cheap and frugal!

Memory is expanding is size and shrinking on size all at the same time!

The speed at which memory technology is growing is amazing.

I remember when a 16mb SD card was decent... now you can get micro sd cards with very large capacity at amazing prices.

So now you can fill a camera with photos until the batteries run out and you will rarely be able to fill a card up.

Auto insurance online quotes

Insurance is one of those sad expenses we all need. Sometimes we can find good deals by phoning around but I have always had best results with online insurance quotes.

So if you are looking for and auto insurance online quote then you will probably find the best deal this way.

By looking for this kind of stuff online you often find that companies have to compete against each other and give much better prices.

Home Gym.... would you consider it?

One of the most important things in life for me is keeping a reasonable level of fitness. So at the moment I pay for monthly Gym membership.

Looking into various pieces of fitness equipment that are available I could possible replace the gym membership with a fully functional home gym for less than a years worth of payments.

Would you consider a home gym?

Who on earth are the Sproutwells?

When I got the opportunity to watch this You Tube clip I had no idea what it was all about:

Well the sproutwells seem to be a family of vegeatables living in the human world!

Watching the episode the baby was my favorite character and the I liked the fact that the humor was a little sarcastic.

My favorite part was when the lettuce dog wee'ed on the human woman :)

... I wonder what the package was?

It's obviously something from FreshFunds.com. A place where you can earn points to win prices and various things and make donations to charity...

What did you think of the episode? If you like it, why not share it.

Have you been to Morey’s Piers?

Morey's Pier is a very well respected theme park. Easily the best and most well known in New Jersey. It definitely tops the Wildwood attractions list... and there are a lot of them to top.

Have you been?

Please tell me what you liked best, and what would make you go back again.

They have amazing rides, it's situated in a great part of the world and in this modern world where we are all seeking thrills, you will not be disappointed.

New Jersey is definitely a great place for a family beach vacation. The garden state, as it is known, is known so for a reason. It's clean and crisp and very, very family friendly.

The great thing about Morey's Piers is that you get to be right near the water and you can see the beaches from the large coasters. There is nothing better than sitting up in the air with amazing views and then plummeting to what can be described as a near death experience...... somehow this equates to pure pleasure.

So what else would you recommend whilst in New Jersey? What did you find was there for the family and what did you find was there for yourself.

It's also not far from New York City so a visit there is always warranted.

Need some frugal tips?

I run a Frugal Website called .http://www.blogger.com/img/gl.link.gif It's probably the site I am most proud of and the one I want to spend most of my time on.

I really want this one to work out to be a great site and it's hard to keep content up.

So I am looking for people to interview and people's frugal tricks.

So if you are interested, please let me know.

From Soccer Am to Channel Bee...

If you have EVER spent the time to sit down and watch Soccer AM... then you know of the man, the legend.... Me Tim Lovejoy.

Sadly he does not anchor Soccer Am anymore but gladly you can catch him on an even crazier and non restricted new web channel called Channel Bee.

Horse Play!

Channel Bee was an instant hit for me. I have never heard of it until today and now it will stay in the top bar of my browser. Tim Lovejoy is up to his normal shenanigans and quirky cockiness.

Basically this will make you laugh... if you have a sense of humour that is!

If you like music, gags, sport (football) and just having fun then you have to check out ChannelBee.com.

Let me know what you think.

Salsa the basic way

I can't dance... Every time I try I end up just bouncing up and down like a crap punk!

So I was interested to see this clip on YouTube.

I have often thought about going to Salsa classes.

I know I would make an ass of myself but many people are as bad at dancing as me!!

Find out who those annoying calls are from.

I don't know about you.... but i am sick of being harassed by telemarketers and various other unwanted calls to my home throughout a normal day.

At leats 20% of my calls are unwanted and sometimes you cannot tell where the calls are actually coming from.http://www.blogger.com/img/gl.link.gif

In an even worse note some people get harassed by ex partners or people holding with a grudge and you need to find out who is doing this and either press charges or at least block them

Tracenumber.com offer a fantastic service. TraceNumber.com can be used to lookup the name and address for any unknown phone number. The search by phone number service could be indispensable.

You can use these reverse phone lookups to trace harassing telemarketers, prank callers or anyone annoying you. Unknown numbers from missed calls or that appear on your bill can also be looked up.

This awesome service is available throughout the US and Canada for telephone and cell phone numbers. The lookups are completely confidential and the peroson will not be notified when you search for their phone number.

Making fire without Matches

I just recently came across this great video.

You have to admit this is cool.

I actually own something that works on the same principle called a Swedish Fire stick.

Basically you can have fire no matter where you are.... very handy for urban life :)

Washington DC Moving

Washington DC moving companies are probably pretty easy to find.

However when planning a move you want to make sure that you plan everything perfectly and make sure you hire companies and individuals that are going to be trust worthy.

ClickSmart offers list of people who can help you with your office or home moving in Washington DC and many other places.

Their website is very well laid out and extremely easy to use. You can view and search through every listing and make sure you find a certified trust worthy company to help you with your needs.

I know my last move was a lot of hassle!

You have to watch Joe

Hoe from ImWithJoe.com has just recently started creating videos..... and you HAVE to watch them. He is a great addition to the video blogging world.

He is frickin hilarious, isn't he. The thing I like is that he gives you insight into his life.... and also teaches you something along the way.

What is your dream car? Will you ever buy it?

For years I have always wanted a VW Camper Van. I had that romantic dream of setting off in the Van around Europe and seeing the world.

I still want one and would love to make it good again. I'd personally like a new engine but I know VW Camper enthusiasts see that as a bad thing! Especially with the split wind shield classics.

What is your dream vehicle and why?

If youa re looking to buy used cars then the net is a decent place to get the best selection. Auto123.com is able to find your exact model and pinpoint it to location. It works really rather well :)

And right now they have a very cool competition called the Drive Rate and Fly competition. Basically if you evaluate your car on Auto 123 you have the chance to win a Car Racing Vacation or a Vacation Down South. Pretty neat hey?

Witness the Fitness - Roots Manuva

This is another great British song, and an even better video.
Rodney "Roots" Manuva basically revisits his primary school and tries to win at the sports day events by cheating the little kids..... sadly it does not work and he comes last in everything!

What did you think? I think this video is hilarious and I would also tell you to go and check out some more of his stuff as he really is one of the great British Hip Hop artists.

How much do you pay for Auto Insurance?

I was doing a little research yesterday on auto insurance and found that the USA average was lower than I expected (sub $1000). In fact in Kansas the state I was researching, the average was only $777.

I know if England where I come from, things would be much higher. Lucky for me I don't have a car so I stay away from having to buy it, but if you do have to there are plenty of places to get competitive quotes.

Patio Furniture Covers - Are they needed?

The weather here this summer has been nuts.... bright bold sunshine one minute and dark heavy rain the next.

Having the typical summer BBQ has been a lot harder and in-door activities are an easier bet!

So if you have any patio furniture then having patio furniture covers to go with them really isn't a bad idea at all!

Especially if you just wanna run back inside until the darn rain stops!

What has the weather been like where you are?

Do you have an LCD monitor?

For a long while I held off from upgrading my monitor. I was using and old CRT until I managed to get a great free offer on a Samsung lcd monitor with a new mobile phone purchase.

I realized what I had been missing out on. The crisp clarity of the monitor and fact that it only occupied a small portion of my desk meant that working with my computer felt much better.

I could not turn back to a CRT now!

What do you think of diet pills?

I have never used diet pills so don't know if they work or not.

I don't want to discount them as it is possible that some people need a little medical or herbal help. What do you think? Have you ever used diet pills? Did they work for you and if so what steps did you take to help them work?

I guess you have to change your lifestyle too.

Space - The Female of the Species

Space was one of the strangest pop groups of my child hood. I have no idea what happened to them but am pleased that a crazy band like them managed to get themselves to a level where they could and would appear regular on the radio and TV.

Here is another of there great songs.

You have to admit this is a strange pop tune!

Save your future self with Menstrual blood!!!

This is a subject many find controversial. I personally feel on the fence but right at this point my legs are dangling over the side of pro stem cell research.

The theory is pretty basic.

By collecting stem cells from a woman's menstrual blood and keeping them in storage cures for many future illness may be able to be formulated from the stored cells. These cells may also be able to be used for parents, siblings or other close family members and could be the key to stopping potential life threatening illnesses.

The vital stem cells which can now be safely harvested from a woman's own menstrual blood can be used to stop osteoporosis, heart disease, stroke, Alzheimer’s and Parkinson’s disease and possibly many more illnesses.

I think you will agree it's a hard call to be for or against!

C’elle, a revolutionary service that is dedicated to providing women with a safe and easy method to collect and preserve stem cells found in her menstrual fluid every month can enable a woman to take control of her future. And this can be done right in the privacy of her own home.

C’elle’s has a non-invasive collection process, the menstrual cells are processed and cryo-preserved at a very low temperature. These are then available for potential cellular therapies that may be used in the future.

Some people believe that these amazing self-renewing cells one day may even be used for sports medicine or cosmeceutical treatments including such as anti-aging therapies.

C’elle can enable a women to empowers herself and to take control of her future health with the bonus of possibly helping her close genetic relations too. This is all done in a fast, painless and stress free way.

The limited "Caring is Sharing" promotion is allowing a woman can purchase C'elle for herself and give a meaningful gift of life to her best friend, sister or loved one for free.

To purchase C'elle online go to www.Celle.com and use special promotion code: 241.

Check out the C'elle Client Testimonial for more information.

Work Work Balance!

I have recently been picking up a hell of a lot more design work which is fantastic but is sadly getting in the way of blogging!!

I love blogging and everyday I don't get a chance to catch up on posts or write some new ones it get frustrated... my list of things to do grows and I worry that I will lose readers....

Luckily design pays more so money is at the forefront and keeps me going :) I also really enjoy the design so if I seriously look at it it's a win win situation!

Zenni Optical..gaining exposure, keeping prices low

I really like talking about Zenni Optical.

I wear eyeglasses and I have previously spent a hell of a lot of money on the damn things.

Zenni Optical are blowing the competition by offering prescription glasses online from an amazing $8!! I will have to look next time I am in need.

This amazing deal has led them to be featured on a stream of media including Fox News and the Clark Howard show.

ZenniOptical.com sells cool Prescription Glasses Online. And as I already said...... from $8! You can find a huge selection of frames, with various lens options including single vision lens, sunsensor (potochromic)lens, tinted sunglasses lens, bifocal lens and progressive lens.

Zenni can offer such low prices because they only sell only their own manufactured frames direct to the customer. They have no middlemen and hardly any advertising budget.

I am a Radio Star......http://www.blogger.com/img/gl.link.gif

I was contacted yesterday by a producer from CBC Radio One in Quebec to speak on the Noon Radio Show today about things to do in Montreal fro free and cheap. Of course I agreed right away. It was an awesome opportunity for me.

I know it sounds random that I was contacted but it was all due to the producer coming across my website about living in a frugal way, Frugal Zeitgeist.

I think I did ok but forgot some of the stuff I had planned to say!!

Anyway if you are interested then check out the link for Frugal Zeitgeist on CBC. I am about 3/4 of the way through....

Pineapple Express Fake Weed Revealed

I don't smoke weed myself but many people I know do. So I found it hilarious to find out that the weed being smoked in the new Seth Rogan comedy Pineapple Express was actually a real weed alternative from a very well respected alternative supllier, International Oddities.

This means the guys were probably high during filming :). Seth Rogan even said in an interview that International Oddities products were used in nearly every scene of the movie.

International Oddities describe their product as a stand alone to weed and it is produced from a mixture of buds to give a pleasant high.

They hope that their products will be recognized one day for their quality and that people will not turn their noses up at them without actually knowing about them.

I guess one problem is that many people have a bad opinion of marijuana. However a legal bud could be used in many ways and one idea I like is using them to cut down on smoking tobacco, which contains a huge amount of dangerous and unnatural chemical's.

If you could switch a 20 a day smoking habit to one or two quiet smokes of legal bud every evening you would really improve your lifestyle.... and your wallet situation.

Bad day at the gym...

I never know what to do with myself after a bad day at the gym!!

Sometimes I feel it would have been better not even going but the next day I realize any excursion to the ym is a good thing.

So back next time to beat the hell out of my 4 mile time and get back on track.... wish me well :)

Open up to Schlage

If you are not familiar with homes security then you may be wondering what on earth is Schlage?

Well they are a top home security company and they may keep your home and your family safe from home intrusion with their top of the line products.

They are a trusted name and have been producing for over 85 years. A great and solid track record means you can personally trust their products and I would say they are worth looking into.

Bad days.... with pimples....

If I don't look after myself all the time and have a very healthy diet I find that I get pimples.

Worse of all I get little blackheads around my nostrils and think at times that I need blackhead treatment to help get rid of them. Without any treatment they stay for a very long time.... and sadly popping them just prompts more to come... Disgusting I know :).

Do you get this problem?

Complimentry Business Magazine Subscriptions

What is your dream honeymoon?

I have absolutely no idea where I would go for the honeymoon of my dreams!

There are so many amazing places I would love to go in this world. India, Africa, Thailand, Australia, New Zealand.... the list is endless.

But obviously the comfort and pure bliss of the Bahamas or Jamaica would be great.

I would enjoy sitting around eating and drinking exactly what I wanted when i wanted.... it does however have limited appeal and would be best for no more than two weeks.

Where would you go? What would you do?

What would you do with some FREE Postcard Printing?

Have you ever heard of VistaPrint? Well they are famous for providing very low cost and often free printing services to us penny pinchers and even top notch business types.

I have used them in the past with great results and would definitely say that they that they offer a very decent service indeed.

Now if you was to be offered some Postcard Printing for free, what would you do with it?

I would probably print some postcards for one of my blogs or maybe even some personal ones to send home to my friends and family from here in Canada.

Well, guess what..... VistaPrint have given me a coupon code to give out to everyone for 50 Free Oversized Postcards so now whatever you thought about you can do for real.

Here is the code:
PC50 - 50 Free Oversized Postcards

Like I said these free offers are gold and I can't even before the coupon code prices are very affordable for Joe Blogger like you and me.

Have you used them before? How did you find their products?

Free lunch for a year... yum yum!!

I was browsing around as I usually do and this cool little offer caught my eye!

Basically this two min one page survey gives the opportunity to win lunch for a year or take the cash which is pretty damn cool if you ask me.

It's open to US and Canada (not Quebec) residents over 18 and honestly will take a couple of minutes.

So what is there to lose?

What would you eat with lunch for a year. I prob would not ear McDonalds every day!! We have all seen or heard about Supersize me! I would love to take the cash and possibly use it for eating at some cool local restaurants.

Please let me know if you win..... I know I will be gloating about it :)

Can certification from Cisco change your life?

Everybody has heard of Cisco and if you have anything to do with IT then you have heard of Cisco Certification.

Cisco certification is something can almost be essential to advance to the top level jobs within the IT field. Something that most computer savvy workers would aspire to, I am sure.

I have worked most of my working life in Graphic Design, for small to medium companies. In these situations I have often crossed over to basic IT duties including trouble shooting computers and setting up workstations on various networks. Everytime I got involved in such things I would question myself and wonder if I could get an IT position. It could certainly pay more money. Along with these thoughts came thoughts of looking into the training and highly respected certification offered by Cisco.

Cisco offers an innovative training regime for every level of your career. They offer entry level, associate, professional and advanced so that you can climb the ladder to a high powered and high salaried position. every aspect from routing to design is covered and as the industry standard you will be sure that you are learning essential information. The paper gets you the skilled jobs but the knowledge taught will keep you in them and progressing at a great rate.

Maybe one day I will seek a career in IT... and when I do I know I will be looking into Cisco and their certification to help me climb high.

It's Darn Hot in Here!!!

I live in a shared house.... sadly we don't have air conditioning and I can't really do much about that short of moving out!

I won't be here forever though and if I ever end up getting my own place air con will be somewhere near the top of the list for commodities.

One major problem with having devices like air condition installed and maintained in your ome is the cost. It can get very expensive.... However the web has increased commercial competition and now you can get great prices on many air conditioning parts.

Discount A/C Parts has some great prices. Say you are looking for an a/c compressor, I would say look at their prices and compare. I am sure you will be happy.

Their site is nicely laid out, well designed and easy to navigate meaning that you can get cut price A/C parts with ease.

So next time you need a BMW or Mercedes AC compressor or any auto ac parts for that matter you know where to check first.

Looks cool, heh?

These boots are made for...... working

One thing I realized when i was looking for boots recently is that they are overpriced in the store.

Maybe it is something to do with the fact that people often use them for work so they are essential or that fact that in the Montreal snow they were selling out very quick.

Like everything if you want a better price it's good to look online. Say you were looking for steel toe boots then a site such as WorkBootsUSA.com.com offers them at a very good price. They carry many styles and offer nationwide delivey so definitely worth checking out.

Being hung over

What is Mesothelioma?

I had never heard of this sad illness before but I am glad I know know.

Mesothelioma is a type of cancer that can be caused by asbestos. It is a cancer of the membranes that are surrounding many of the vital organs. The membrane itself is known as mesothelium. It secretes a lubricating fluid thats job is to provide easy and fluid movement of the organs within the body. When the membrane known as mesothelium becomes cancerous, it is known as mesothelioma.

When pimples attack!!!

I woke up this morning with a big fat spot on the middle of my fore head.

Sadly I did not have any pimple cream to hand.

I know now that I need to get some pimple cream and make sure that it is on hand for such mornings!

This is only one but sometimes like most people I do break out a little.

The Alzheimer's Association Memory Walk®

If you know anyone who has been touched by Alzheimer's then you fully understand the severity of this terrible deterioration of a persons brain.

I have seen people slip from the early stages to a stage where my name is no longer easy to recall. It really is sad and luckily we are making progress on discovering treatments and maybe one day a complete cure.

Obviously one of the best ways to help such things progress is to give money or raise money for the associated charities and there are some great events coming up from The Alzheimer's Association.

The Alzheimer's Memory Walk is the biggest event to raise awareness and funds for Alzheimer care, support and research in the USA. It is currently looking for volunteers (of all ages)to help in the ongoing fight against Alzheimer's. Over 600 communities are hosting these walks which are typically 2-3 miles. They are held on a weekend morning in the fall.

Why not check out the walks and see if anything is going on near you. I will be checking this out.

When to give money to Charity?

I am hoping to one day have a blog that earns money purely for charity.

For now I don't quite earn enough to give vast amounts to charity but I really hope that I can get to a certain earning level and then start giving a percentage to various charities each month.

What level that is.... I don't quite know yet. I guess I need to work out an amount over all my bills and then anything above and beyond that should leave my hands.

When do you decide to give to charity?

Do I need skin care?

At my age, 26, I have not been worrying too much about the health of my skin, but I have had people saying to me that if you don't start to look after it now then it will be vert bad when I am older..... obviously this worries me a little!

So maybe it's time for me to look into Skin Care Products?

iDerma is a company that may be able to help me! They offer a range of scientifically advanced skin care products including anti-aging products, moisturizing creams, cleansers and sunscreens, to mineral makeup (I won't be needing the make up :) ) and more.

Horray 6 miles

Finally today I did a 6 mile run.... this isn't new to me but I have not done it for a while and this route has some substantial hills so I am now in pain.

No pain, no gain.... right?

I actually feel great about it and very buzzed.... ask me if I feel the same tomorrow though :)

Hopefully i can get a 4-5 miler in by the end of the week.

Wish me luck.

Blogging can be very stressful. Especially if you rely on it as your job. And with life problems piling up on top you have to site back and take a deep breath otherwise the stress could just be too much.

Dealing with PPC

I am launching a big PPC campaign at the moment and am at the final stage of entering around 70 groups into Yahoo Search Marketing. All I can say is I hope it works as I have been working hard and putting in text all day! Just 26 more groups to go and then daily tweaking to make it work, hopefully!

Have you ever done anything like this? What was your experience and what did you find helped it work?

Listen to Sci Fi

Spending a lot of time working on the computer I find it hard to find the time to detach and read a book. It always feels like I should be on the computer just finishing off some of my mind numbing tasks.... this is where the idea of podcasts and audiobooks interest me.

I love some sci fi. I am not a Trekkie but love things like Hitch Hikers Guide to the Galaxy and Red Dwarf.

However when I was given the opportunity to look into the online audio for "Leviathan Chronicles" I was very intrigued.

Leviathan2

The first thing that struck m after visiting the site was the shear quality. Immediately I thought "wow this is a high quality production". To be honest I expected a very basic site and a few downloads but you don't get that here. You get an extremely well designed, well laid ot site to navigate and find out about this cool story.

After listening to the first free episode I was impressed. It's tense and feels like it is happening deep under the sea. The sound effects are very atmospheric. I would definitely suggest you go and listen to this now and then sign up to the podcast.

This is idea for listening to on the way to work or during a lunch hour or even whilst at work :).

Let me know what you thought.

Making Bread - Success

Today I made my first loaf of bread and it went surprisingly well :).

So hopefully I will be making more in the coming weeks and when perfect will start to replace bread buying. It is far cheaper and probably much healthier.

Do you make bread, how do you do it? Can you point me to any great loaf recipes?

In Vermont they do what they Want and the same goes for the rest of New England!

I spent much of last Summer in beautiful Vermont ad luckily for me I will be going back for a week or so very soon.

last summer was great. Nights by the pool, cycling downtown, swimming in the pond and generally relaxing.

This time I won't be there are long but still I am sure it will be great fun and we are hoping to go up a mountain and maybe camp. Vermont is amazing.

One of the highlights of last summer was a mini roadtrip through New England and ending in Boston to visit my girlfriends sister at Harvard.

There are so many things to do in Boston and last year we ended up there in the middle of a street festival so we get carried away with the crowds and eating amazing Indian street food.

Hopefully we will get a chance to go back maybe whilst we are visiting Vermont in the new future. We may get a chance to do some more sightseeing and do things like visiting Boston Museum of Fine Arts and other tourist attractions.

Google Earth and my Running

One great thing about Google Earth is it's ability to track distances. This has become very handy for my running.

Today I just left of out of home and ran... after showing and a rest I decided to use Google Earth to judge how far I had run.

It's ashame you can't see the hill I ran up!! But hey it is great none the less and showed me that I ran 3.97 miles :)

This is pretty advanced and gives me th opportunity to run a timed lap on this route.

Want the cheapest...buy generic

If you are looking for the cheapest of any medication you can always look to the generic versions. For example if you are looking for weight loss then why not purchase generic Phentermine it's definitely cheapest to buy online in this form.

Like I said this works for most known pills and medication. Let me know if you have had luck doing it this way.

You should always have decent luggage...

Have you ever been waiting for your bags at an airport and seen a shoe come round on the conveyor belt... then comes along some clothing, then a few other bits and you realize that a bag has been bashed open somehow.

This must be really and for the owner and my only advice is, get some decent luggage! You can get some decent Delsey luggage. You need something strong, reliable and that can be dragged around with you comfortably.... you don't want that shoe to be yours!

Amazing Joker and Batman Dark Knight speed painting

I found this while looking for stuff on the new Batman movie "The Dark Knight" and I was absolutely in awe of it.

These speed painting artists are unbelievable and it really makes me want to get a graphics tablet and start having a go myself.

I have no idea how good I could do.

This is awesome, isn't it :)

Hollywood pick up lines....

What is your best / worst Hollywood pick up line?

I love the satirical movies like Anchorman, here are two classics from Will Ferrell's Ron Burgundy.

“I don't know how to put this but I'm kind of a big deal.”
Anchorman: The Legend of Ron Burgundy (2004)

“I'm storming your castle on my steed, m'lady.”
Anchorman: The Legend of Ron Burgundy (2004)

Victory Hair have a hilarious flirting game on their Extreme Style by VO5 website. I tried out the Ron Bergundy lines in the game and did not do too well :)

The game is actually the Ultimate Flirting Championship and if you play well, you could win.... I don't think you should use lines from satirical comedies but maybe some movie lines would work well.

It is only 10 days old and I really think that this whole thing happened with a whole lot of luck and not much else.

Basically some of the stoires went big in Stumble Upon and it just brought in hordes of traffic and now this is slowing I am at a bit of a loss as to what to do!

Flirting... it's not a game it a .... well it's a competition, and you should join in

Are you any good at flirting? It's not something I was ever any good at so very often never tried.

I certainly never tried to be sexy or seductive but obviously have been around friends and their often pitiful attempts at luring the opposite sex.

Serious flirting is pretty silly and if you step outside of the box and look at it it can make you laugh a lot.

Aside from atrocious pick up lines (I have been chasing a star and I finally found it etc etc etc), cheesy looks or attempts to dance in a seductive manor are probably the most obvious forms of flirting.

My favorite situation is when there are a group of guys drinking at a bar. They are very drunk and decide that they like a group of seemingly sober girls nearby. One of the drunken casonova has his beer confidence on so start brushing his har and giving quick slick (to him only!) glances towards the girls.....

His increased attempts at looking like George Clooney cause the girls to giggle at him... he thinks that theya re interested an drunkenly stumbles over with a cheesy pick up line..... then rejection.

Maybe I am sick humored but you have to laugh when this happens!!

Anyway the photo up there..... that is my look. I guess in reality if I have ever been flirting it has been in trying to be funny, which has sometimes failed miserably! However I am in a very content relationship now and I never intentionally flirted when I met her.

The Victory Hair website has this really cool widget and a fantastic game to play right now. It's pretty funy so I suggest you grab this widget and visit the site. You should definitely enter the Ultimate Flirting Championship and see where you end up. I know I would fail miserabley :)

A great band.... Soulwax

This is a band that I have had the pleasure to see doing a live set and DJ set (they go under the name of Too Many DJs) and both were awesome. I probably preferred the live instrument version as I am a rock boy at heart.

Anyway they have some other great songs too so if you liked this one I suggest you check out more on YouTube and let me know what you think.

Women could hold the key to life!!

You may be thinking.... yeah well what's new? But I was talking about Stem Cell research and the possibility that cures could be found in menstrual blood. The story here on CNNMoney tells more about this innovative and controversial research

Stem Cell research is a very touchy subject for many as it is effectively playing with the beginnings of life. Personally I am not 100% sure of my position on it right now but for the most part I am a supporter of things that could save people from dying of horrendous disease. The thought that cures for many deadly diseases could be found in women's menstrual blood is very interesting indeed and below you can read the full press release from C'ELLE about this subject.

Let me know your thoughts....

Taking Control: Future Therapies for a Host of Serious Diseases May Be Found in Women's Menstrual Blood

July 07, 2008: 01:28 PM EST

OLDSMAR, Fla., July 7 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- With today’s hectic lifestyle, where most women are juggling careers, family, relationships, and a host of activities, the idea of possibly facing a serious illness in the future is not something that readily comes to mind -- especially when a woman is in the prime of her life. But what most women don’t know, is that the key to treating a number of possibly life-threatening diseases that she, a parent, a sibling or even her children may face in later years, such as osteoporosis, heart disease, stroke, Alzheimer’s and Parkinson’s disease, may be found within her own body -- in vital stem cells, which can now be harvested from her own menstrual blood.

Now, thanks to the revolutionary research and technology of C’elle, a service dedicated to providing women with a safe and easy method of collecting and preserving stem cells found in her menstrual fluid each month, even the busiest woman can take control of her future, right in the privacy of her own home. With C’elle’s non-invasive collection process, menstrual cells are processed and cryo-preserved (stored at a very low temperature) for potential cellular therapies that may be used in the future. These self-renewing cells one day may even be used for sports medicine or cosmeceutical treatments, such as anti-aging therapies.

"C’elle enables and empowers a woman to take control of her future health, and possibly of those genetically closest to her, in a fast, painless and stress free way," said Michelle Kay, Marketing and Sales Manager for C’elle. "We live in exciting times, as science and technology are discovering how extremely valuable menstrual blood stem cells really are, and the enormous treatment potential they represent for future therapies. C’elle’s ongoing research is supporting these promising findings."

For more information about C’elle, please call 1-877-892-3553 or visit www.celle.com.

Glasses are expensive, don't you think?

I have been wearing glasses since my pre teen days and now that I am grown up and need to pay for my own, I am a lot more careful than I was as a kid.

Glasses are expensive, mostly because of the lenses. The frames are not usually cheap either but luckily for us glasses wearers, we have the internet to hand.

zennioptical.com are and online store that sell highly stylish prescription glasses online. They have a huge selection of frames that come with single vision lens, sunsensor (potochromic)lens, tinted suglasses lens, bifocal lens and progressive lens. Zenni Optical say that their low prices come from the fact that they sell their own manufactured frames only, direct to you, with no middlemen and almost no advertising budget.

A can of Bud - legal!!!

OK I am obviously not talking about bud beer. I mean a bud that you can smoke. There are a ton of legal smoking products on the market but some are different to others.

I don't smoke myself but many of my friends do and I see no reason why they should not swap tobacco for a natural legal bud every now and then. It will give them a different feeling and get away from the heavily chemical produced commercial cigarettes.

International Oddities are providers of the top legal buds and have a fantastic range of different feelings, tastes and textures for you to choose from all at very reasonable prices.

I really like the concept behind their "can of bud" products and the "Bahli Bubble Bud" has an awesome design. If I was looking at buying one this would be the one I would try first.

Compared to some of their competitors their website is excellently organized and allows you to see highly detailed images and descriptions to help you decide what to try. They are also very competitive in price and in most cases the best prices for the most exotic products.

So if you try these let me know how they were... have fun and relax.

Sunday, and hungover

Happy 4th of July weekend!!!! Well it's almost over now...

I am hungover from going to Montreal's International fireworks festival last night. I drank a lot of beer and had fun but am now paying the consequences.

I have been cutting down on alcohol recently and intend to only have alcohol about once a week. It's part of my frugal ideas that I have been gathering up and hope to start saving a lot of money over the coming months.

I also hope I can get my online earnings back up to a livable level too! I'll still stay frugal if I can though....

4th of July - Quick Vegetarian BBQ Suggestions

I love BBQ's. So the 4th of July is a good day for me, even though I am British!

Hopefully I will be living the high life in Vermont for this years Independence day.

Anyway..... I thought I would suggest some Vegetarian choices for the BBQ as I have not eaten meat in around 10 years!

1. Cajun Vegetables: This one is easy, simple cut your veggies in big pieces, brush with oil and sprinkle with a decent Cajun Spice. Works well with Zuccini, Broccoli, Egg plant and Onions. Just through the big ones straignt onto the grill and the smaller ones can be cooked in Aluminum foil.

2. Corn: Most people already do this, simply brush the sweetcorn with a little butter and salt and slap it onto the grill until it's cooked.

3. Portobello Mushroom Burgers: Grab a couple of portabello's brush very lightly with oil and season with your favorite seasoning. Steak spice works great (check that the brand is vegetarian)! Grill the mushroom until it is warm throughout and serve in a burger bun with grilled onions, lettuce, mustard and ketchup..... an amazing alternative to meat burgers.

4. Stuffed Apples: Cut the cored from the middle of an apple. In a seperate bowl mix currents, a little lemon juice and some brown sugar. Stuff this into the middle of the apple, wrap it in aluminum foil and bake on the grill for 15 mins or so. Carefully unwrap the apple and enjoy as a great desert.

5. BBQ Banana: This is so simple! through the banana on the grill (in it's skin). Cook and turn until the skin is blackened all around. Remove from the BBG, carefully open and serve the hot insides with ice cream.

6. Chick Pea Burgers: These can be pretty hard to get right. I do these by judgment but if you like following exact recipes I suggest you go searching and find one you like. Throw some chickpeas, finely shopped onions into a bowl. Add an egg (unless you are vegan!), some steak spice and fresh chopped herbs. Basil, coriander and parsley are always good. Squash the mixture together and add ingredients until you have a thick paste mixture. Pat the mixture into patties and store in the fridge for a couple of hours.
Simply brush each one lightly with oil and a little salt / pepper then grill until hot throughout. Serve these as you would serve a normal burger.

7. Grilled Halloumi Cheese: Purchase this strange salty cheese from your local supermarket (most stock it) and cut into 1/2 inch thick slices. Throw them on the BBQ and be amazed as it does not melt!! This is ideal in a burger bu with grilled veggies and some relish.

Do you have an vege suggestions?

Do you believe in Angel

When I was a young boy magic was pretty popular (on British TV, at least) but to be quite honest the acting and performance of out magicians was pretty damn awful.

Paul Daniels was one of the most famous and an utterly annoying man. The best we had was probably Penn and Teller and Jerry Sadowich but overall watching magic was not that great an experience.

Then came along David Blane. David Blane was a spectacle and after he did a few illusions, or possibly feats of endurance, including the box stunt and the ice stunt, the Houdini style of magician was back.

Still, I did not exactly go after watching magic...... then I was surfing around various blogs and my blogging friend Christy of Christy's Coffee Break has a video of this guy I had never heard of before.

It was a guy called Chris Angel. His personality was great and the card trick was even better. I spent the next few days neglecting work and popping over to You Tube to watch more videos.

Well Chris Angel is a mega star now and rightly so. Montreal's finest "Cirque Du Soleil" have a brand new Las Vegas spectacular featuring the awesome Chris Angel. The show is called CRISS ANGEL Believe and is taking place at the Luxor Las Vegas.

I would love to go and see this. I would also love to go to Las Vegas!! I don't have the money right now but their is a text message competition on where I or you could win 2 tickets.

Here are the comp details: Text 'Believe' to 22122 to win 2 tickets to 'CRISS ANGEL Believe'

Let me know if you win :), I'll definitely be letting you know if I do!!

Tired and angry at my sleep pattern!

I am not happy with my current sleep pattern!

It started last week and now I am not able to sleep until about 6 in the morning. Today I have forced myself up, but still it is 11:00 and too late in my opinion. It really messes with my day and results in me working until very late!

Still I have Aaron Abber's class to look forward too and things will all be fine.

I hope that I can gradually drag myself out of bed earlier each day and eventually force my pattern back to what it was..... which was actually waking up at 6 not falling asleep at 6!!

Buy some sexy lingerie for Independence day

So July 4th may bring some great BBQ's, good feeling and partying..... you may find yourself in a situation where you require something a little sexy..... if you know what I mean.

If you wanted to go ultra-sexy you could look at something like a corset or just settle for some standard lingerie!!

Being a guy I don't really think I will be looking for a corset anytime soon and it's not really something us guys have to think about.... maybe the gender balance is a little off kilter?

Anyway enjoy the 4th of July.

What is Anoretix?

Anoretix is apparently this years hottest diet pill. I don't know much about diet pills but it says that it has 9 patented ingredients and is receiving great reviews.

It also has a customer satisfaction guarantee.

One review I read mentioned that all the individual ingredients from a local GNC would cost 100's a month so the pill is pretty cheap in comparison and may do some good.

If you have tried this let me know, I am interested in knowing how well it works.

July 4th - time to stock up for the pets

With the 4th July sales coming up and the stores probably desperate to grab sales it may be a great time to stock up on bulk items for your pets. I am sure you will be able to get great deals on things like dog and cat supplies.

I know last time I went to Petsmarts that even food was looking pretty pricey and things like scratch pads, collars and beds were out of my normal budget. So it's definitely worth finding those deals.

How would you quickly lose weight this summer?

Would you ever consider weight loss pills to lose weight?

I am unsure on the point and would not discount that you may be able to safely use them but would always advise serious research.

After this July 4th BBQ stuff coming up we are all going to feel a little fatter and be looking at ways to successfully shed the pounds for this summer.

Maybe diet pills will work for some and not other..... I wish you luck.

So what after the July 4th Celebrations

The July 4th celebrations are coming up and that means a big family BBQ for many Americans! After being full of grilled shrimps, lobster and steak we all need to consider that the summer is in full swing and for many of us weight loss will be on our mind!

So enjoy the BBQ's and take the post independence day belly seriously from July 5th.

Independence day, what will you be doing?

The 4th July Independence day celebrations are coming up fast. What will you be doing. I spent the last 4th July in Burlington Vermont skipping through a few bars.

Many people will be looking forward to shopping. The Independence day 4th July sales will be crazy this year as shops try to recover some cash so I advise that you go shopping for deals and bargains if you need anything.

I may possibly be in the USA again this year for the celebrations so looking forward to it.

Let me know what you will be doing on Independence day. Viva la 4th July.

Why you need to be Cisco trained and certified...

In many jobs it is essential to be trained and hold certification to show that you are up to the job.

The world of IT is absolutely no different. If anything, you probably will not progress beyond junior level without some form of paper showing exactly what you can do.

That is where Cisco certification comes in.

Cisco Certification can give you that essential piece of paper and they are an extremely trusted name, worldwide. You can take their training at various levels and wildly grow your chances of career advancement within your chosen area of interest. Many employers may even insist on Cisco certified applicants!

After enrollment Cisco will train you to the absolute highet standards with their unique training programs. On completion and verification you will receive certification that outlines and shows exactly what you have proven yourself of, meaning that an employer can trust you.

My career has followed a path of very little certification and at my point in life I could find it difficult to progress. Being mainly in the field of graphic design I have had many brushed with IT related problems and actually have enjoyed the learning thus far. So much in fact that I may take Cisco training at some point and take a career change. I could see myse;f doing pretty well in the IT section of a medium sized company.

Would you consider taking this training?
