I wrote a while back about Oscar De La Hoya's upcoming boxing match in May. However it looks like this is going to be postponed. He is now looking at a big money rematch with Floyd Mayweather in September.
The Golden Boy and Mayweather's first bout broke all PPV records when they fought last May, in Las Vegas.
Golden Boy Promotions' CEO Richard Schaefer told ESPN that the bout is "almost finalized" for September 13 or September 20.
This is big news and it looks like the fight may take place at the 27,000-seat Home Depot Center, which is the outdoor home to the famous Los Angeles Galaxy's (you know the soccer team that David Beckham plays for). Other well known venues are also very interested, including the MGM Grand in Las Vegas.
So now this means that everyone who is interested needs to act super fast to secure their Mayweather vs De La Hoya tickets as this is an extremely hot event and the best seats are going to be taken before we know it.
Sadly I don't think I will make it to this event as I am too far north at the moment, unless of course the venue ends up being closer to me. I am yet to see a professional boxing match and this really would be a great one to start with.
