Make sure you insure your home

I learned the hard way that you must insure your home. Getting home insurance is always very easy and like I said, essential in my view.

I had to claim twice in a year and it saved me thousands.

The first instance came when I was up in the loft and I slipped off the beam putting half of my body through the ceiling. Insurance fixed and re plastered my entire bathroom.

The second incident came when there was a big storm and a piece of my living room ceiling collapsed in. Sadly the exterior damage was not claimable but they did fix all the interior damage.

Both times all I had to pay was a small excess fee.
