I took most of the day off from Blogging yesterday.
Me and my partner decided to go on a long walk through Montreal.
We started at our home in Westmount, a part of Montreal just to the west of downtown. Our destination was Jean Talon Market which is North East of Montreal and the other side of the mountain.
In one day it felt like we visited a few cities and I saw parts that I had never seen before.
We made our way up over the Mountain through the money laden streets of upper Westmount and then reached St Joseph's Cathederal stopping for a good 45 minutes. This Cathedral sits at the mountain peak and you can see all around Montreal. The building itself is quite a spectacle and shows just how dominant the Catholic Church once was.We then tipped over the mountain and made our way to an area called Cote de Neiges.
From this fairly populated and family / student area we made our way winding through back streets to another trendy area called Van Horne before weaving through Ave Du Parc and eventually ending up in the Jean Talon area at the top of St Laurent st.
The market is fantastic but we were so baked and tired from our walk that we did not have the attention span to fully enjoy it.
Next time we should take the Metro :)
