Incentives for following bloggers

I have noticed it is very hard to get people to subscribe to your websites. You try hard and get everyone to read but no one stays.

So I was wondering what I should do for some of my websites.... how do I get people to come by?

Tomorrow I will be releasing the first of my ideas to try and entice people and I hope it goes well.

Have you tried anything like this in the past? What did you do and how did it work out?
