Introduction to Bottom

Bottom was a TV series that I remember mainly from my early teens. I thought about it last night for the first time in ages and had to see if I could find any.

I have been showing my partner all the Bristish comedy of recent times, which generally tends to be completely about wit and strange circumstances. However this is a different kind of comedy. Crap sound effects and cheap sets with rude language and plenty of slap stick. But hilariously funny, I think.

Rick Mayall (of Drop Dead Fred fame) and Ade Edmonson created a string of TV shows in the 80s / 90s and then went onto to a series of Bottom Live tours. Recently their acting careers have taken a more serious turn but they are mildy cursed by the fact that you just think of them in their Richie and Eddie persona's.

Rik Mayall was also out of actin for many years after nearly dying in a quad crash and suffering brain damage. He seems to be fully recovered now.

I would love to see a comeback epiosode of Bottom and see what the digusting duo are up to these days.
