You've got to do your own growing, no matter how tall your grandfather was.

I am not sure of the origin of this one but it really struck m as a great little quote. We do all have to stand on our own two feet and make ourselves who we are.

It works the other way around too, if you come from a bad family it does not mean that you are a bad person. Everyone has the ability to be what they want and get something close to what they want if they stay positive and work hard.

Got to love those Irish for their frankness.
