I don't know much about wood and I know even less about treating wood, so it's probably best that I stick to buying treated wood.
A while back I had an idea to build furniture from old railway sleepers and I looked at them nearly buying the cheapest ones for my projects. Turns out that they were treated with tar, many years ago and that it would leak out and make a mess and possibly be dangerous.
I did however notice that you could buy new ones that had been treated with more moderna nd safe treatments. If I ever decide to do it again then these are the ones I will buy.
The Pacific Wood Preserving Companies obviosuly would know exactly what you are talking about and can supply many treated wood products for your needs.
They are a huge company and seem to be aiming their supply towards industry offering products like Transmission Poles, Crossties, Switchties, Fire-Retardant Treated Lumber, Pressure-Treated Lumber, Agricultural Products and Landscape Ties and their Texas facility also manufactures hardwood crane mats.
I like the design of their website and digging around I learned that they have a very important policy towards their local environments. Their treatment methods are apparently safe which is a big bonus.
You ca view literature and a good amount of detail about each of their locations. The language can get a little technical for the likes of the unknowing like me but I am sure that if you are in the industry the detail is exactly what you are looking for.
As I always emphazise, contact information and most information you will need is very easily obtainable. PWP are obviously a serious, dedicated, large company and I am sure would be able to offer exactly what you need.
