Strangely the proof that Spring is on the way here in Montreal has been marked, for me at least, by more bad weather.
This morning instead of blizzards of snow drifting through the city, rain is pounding the streets and paving the way for a miserable wet day.
Just yesterday I was trying to remember what the streets looked like before the snow was here and I guess soon I may find out again.
Montreal is a beautiful city, no matter what the weather but I do miss getting my dose of vitamin D from the warm sun. I know it's coming though so time to start cheering up.

The Highlight of my winter.....
I have just found out that the Montreal Highlights Festival is about to start tomorrow.
I don't fully know what goes on but I have been told it is a must see and after seeing this image I can see why!
There website montrealenlumiere.com has all the great info and gives a good heads up, so we can all see what to expect.
Hopefully I will be able to get some great photos and then obviously share them on here.
Have you been to this festival? If so what were your experiences?

What do I wear today?
This is a question I am more used to asking myself related to how I would like to look before I step out of the house but being here in Canada it has changed it's intention. It now refers to what the weather will be like and if I shold dress for the worst or for mild conditions.
I am slowly learning that layering is the best tactic so it's easier to deal with different temperatures. They change daily and it is really confusing. Some days it is so cold your spit cracks when it hits the ground. Other days a simple hoodie is a too warm.
Today looks sunny, clear and like a spring day..... that means it's f**king freezing so I better wrap up. :)

I'm a legal alien, A legal alien in Montreal
Well just over a week ago I arrived in Montreal to start my new life.
Today I just (sort of) moved into a new apartment and I just managed to start a job washing dishes in a kitchen.
It's a very different life to the one I had in London where I owned a flat and charged a fair amount of money for people to hire me for graphic layouts but I think this new life is more challenging.
I turned up for my first shift on Saturday night and had no safety induction or anything. I was just dressed in white clothes and pointed towards the washing up area where an emotionless guy stood there staring at me.
I was left to fend for myself and quickly discovered that the people I was working with spoke French only so strangely for the first time I remember I was the one who was could not understand rather than the normal perception that the foreign people can't understand you. What a shock that was!
I hated the job, could not speak to the people, barely am earning enough to live and will be looking for something new but at least I'm experiencing first hand the predicament I have seen with many immigrants and travelers that come to London, and for that I feel very proud of myself.

Where have I been, Where will I be??
Sorry to all my regular viewers for an absense.
I've been very busy this week saying Goodbye's and everything preparing to leave Vermont.
I'm off to the UK for a flying visit with my partner (well 3 weeks) and will be all over the place so know my blogging will sadly suffer.
I'll be back blogging seriously by September I hope as I am moving to Montreal then but I wil make sure I get some posts in before then and reply to all my comments and visitors.
Until next time (very soon!), Forest!
